This position is responsible for directing and assisting stewards to make cleanup more efficient. The role involves ensuring proper water temperature and chemical levels for cleaning, documenting these levels, and assisting with banquet plate-ups. The supervisor will also support cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks, provide them with needed items, and support banquets and buffets by transporting items and ensuring adequate stock. Returning cleaned items to their proper locations and operating/maintaining cleaning equipment such as the dishwashing machine, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing station, and trash compactor are key duties. Additionally, the role involves assisting management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees. Adherence to all company and safety/security policies and procedures, reporting accidents and unsafe conditions, and completing safety training are required. Maintaining a clean and professional appearance, protecting company assets, and welcoming guests according to company standards are also part of the role. Developing positive working relationships, supporting team goals, and ensuring quality standards are met are essential. Physical requirements include moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, and performing movements like reaching overhead, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. The ability to move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces and perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors is also necessary.
