About The Position

The Steward supports the Food & Beverage team at The Elms Hotel & Spa by maintaining clean, sanitary, and well-organized kitchen and dishwashing areas. The role washes, sanitizes, and stores dishware and cookware; operates dishwashing equipment; handles waste and recycling; and cleans kitchen equipment and surfaces. The Steward also helps receive and organize supplies, keeps workstations stocked for service, follows safety and sanitation procedures, and reports maintenance or safety concerns to a supervisor. The position requires standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds. Open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required. Previous stewarding, dishwashing, or kitchen experience is preferred but not required.

Previous stewarding, dishwashing, or kitchen experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, and pans.
Maintain cleanliness of the dish room, kitchen, and surrounding areas.
Operate dishwashing machines safely and efficiently.
Remove trash and recycling using proper waste disposal procedures.
Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, floors, drains, walls, and other surfaces as directed.
Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing kitchen supplies.
Follow safety and sanitation policies, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
Report maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor immediately.
Support chefs and cooks by keeping workstations stocked and ready for service.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the Food & Beverage team.
