About The Position
Culinaire is hiring a full-time Steward at Kamin Science Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The role maintains kitchen work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition while meeting sanitation and safety standards. Days and hours may vary, night availability is required, and occasional 12-hour shifts may be scheduled. Additional schedule details are provided during the interview.
Requirements
- Previous dishwashing and dining room maintenance experience is required.
- Night availability is required.
- Must be able to perform the position's essential functions satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Sweep and mop floors at appropriate intervals to meet safety and sanitation standards.
- Operate large electric equipment, including dishwashers, sanitizers, trash compactors, and glass crushers.
- Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other assigned food preparation surfaces.
- Separate and remove trash and garbage, place it in designated containers, and steam-clean or hose out garbage cans in assigned areas.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and food preparation machines and equipment.
- Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas while following safe lifting standards.
- Assist with banquet table and front-of-house setup as requested.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and delivery of supplies and product.
- Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment as needed.
- Comply with sanitation and safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
