About The Position

The Steward Prep Cook is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all dishes, cookware, and utensils used in the food and beverage operations. This role also involves assisting with food preparation, plating, and serving, as well as maintaining the cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas. The position requires adherence to hygiene regulations and company standards, and may involve assisting other service teams to ensure guest satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be detail oriented with outstanding organizational and communication skills.
  • Must possess basic computational ability.
  • Self-driven and able to work independently.
  • Knowledge of table and bar service.
  • High school or equivalent education required.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards.
  • Must fully comply with Azul Hospitality rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotels facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior hospitality or restaurant experience preferred.
  • Safe Server Alcohol & Food certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize all china, glassware, silverware, flatware, pots, and pans.
  • Operate commercial dishwashing machine and maintain a hygienic working environment.
  • Ensure all food and beverage outlets have the necessary amounts of items for their shifts.
  • Attend to spills and breakage immediately, following proper safety procedures.
  • Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of all kitchens and food preparation areas.
  • Remove and dispose of trash bags from receptacles.
  • Participate in the deep cleaning of the outlet.
  • Report any maintenance and/or hazard issues to the supervisor.
  • Assist the service team as necessary to meet and exceed guest expectations.
  • Assist in receiving orders and storing them in appropriate locations.
  • Assist with prepping, plating, and serving food as requested.
  • Perform other duties assigned by managers and supervisors.
  • Assist with any guest inquiry.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by direct and indirect Supervisors.
