About The Position

The Steward/Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all kitchen equipment, dishware, and back-of-house areas. This role is essential to supporting kitchen and restaurant operations by ensuring a steady supply of clean tools, cookware, and service items while maintaining the highest sanitation standards.

Requirements

Kitchen or Stewarding experience preferred
Strong work ethic and reliability required
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Understanding of basic sanitation and cleanliness standards preferred
Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with leadership and coworkers
Food handler certification required as of start date

Responsibilities

Wash, sanitize, and polish all dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
Ensure all cleaning is performed according to food safety and sanitation standards
Maintain cleanliness and organization of dishwashing station and surrounding areas
Operate dishwashing machines safely and efficiently, ensuring proper chemical usage and water temperatures
Sort and properly store clean dishware, cookware, and service items in designated locations
Remove trash, recycling, and waste from kitchen and service areas regularly
Clean and sanitize kitchen floors, drains, walls, and work surfaces as needed
Assist kitchen team by providing clean equipment and tools in a timely manner during service
Break down and clean kitchen equipment at the end of service (grills, ovens, prep stations, etc.)
Refill cleaning supplies, chemicals, and sanitizing solutions as needed
Follow all HACCP, OSHA, and food safety guidelines at all times
Support basic kitchen organization and cleanliness throughout shift
Assist with receiving and storing deliveries when needed
Maintain dish machine and report any maintenance or operational issues immediately
