About The Position
The Steward / Dishwasher is a crucial part of the kitchen team, helping ensure a successful culinary experience through sanitized, well-maintained equipment and facilities. The role maintains a clean kitchen, organizes the restaurant and back-of-house areas, and assists with food preparation as needed. The position is part of Halcyon, a 154-room independent hotel in Denver and part of the Makeready collection.
Requirements
- Stand, walk, sit, and use hands to handle, feel, and work with objects and tools.
- Lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds related to inventory.
- Adhere to Makeready and property policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload dishwashing machines.
- Wash designated items by hand, including wooden cutting boards, large pots, delicate dishware, and cutlery.
- Store clean dishes, glasses, and equipment appropriately.
- Ensure enough clean dishes, glasses, and utensils are available, especially during peak hours.
- Monitor dishwashing machine operation, promptly report technical or performance issues, and keep chemicals filled.
- Follow Makeready's Guiding Principles.
- Perform additional duties and assignments as assigned.
- Maintain a clean kitchen and organize restaurant and back-of-house areas.
- Assist with food preparation as needed.
