About The Position

The Steward/Dishwasher is a vital member of the Zingerman's Roadhouse restaurant team, working in a fast-paced environment. This full-time role is 35–40 hours per week, with additional hours potentially available based on business needs. AM shifts are available; weekends, mornings, and holidays are required. Compensation is $16 per hour.

The role maintains clean dishes, kitchen areas, equipment, and supplies while following health, sanitation, and safety procedures. The Steward/Dishwasher may also assist with kitchen preparation and perform other tasks as directed by leadership.

• Reliable transportation to and from work despite varying start and end times.
• Able to move and position oneself around the kitchen, basement, and dining floor during a shift.
• Able to bend, stoop, and remain upright for long periods.
• Able to safely relocate up to 65 pounds.
• Able to ascend and descend between the basement and dining floor.
• Self-motivated, especially under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Arrive on time for scheduled shifts, meetings, and classes.
• Wash plates, glasses, utensils, pots, and pans using an automatic dishwasher and a three-compartment sink.
• Unload, sort, and store clean dishes.
• Sweep, scrub, and mop floors.
• Clean floor mats, drains, walls, shelves, windows, and restrooms.
• Clean and sanitize foodservice equipment.
• Sort and remove trash, recycling, and compostables to designated pickup areas outside the building.
• Stock and replenish cleaning supplies and chemicals.
• Use and store cleaning chemicals and supplies properly.
• Follow applicable health and sanitation procedures and Zingerman's safety guidelines.
• Follow and uphold Zingerman's Roadhouse standards.
• Assist with kitchen preparation as directed.
• Perform other tasks as directed by leadership.
