SPT - Sterile Processing Technician - Nights
About The Position
SPT - Sterile Processing Technician - Nights. This position is responsible for inspecting, assembling, and evaluating all surgical instruments and instrument sets to ensure proper sterilization, completeness of set, and to determine the need for repair/replacement. The technician will perform decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers, and equipment according to established protocols. They will inspect instruments, equipment, and containers to assure cleanliness and proper functioning, and correct instrument sets according to current standards and established count sheets and/or instrument tracking systems. Maintaining proper levels of inventory to ensure availability for case carts is also a key responsibility.
Requirements
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
