About The Position

OSU is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Tech for its busy Level One trauma facility. Candidates should have experience across all areas of the department, including decontamination, instrument assembly, sterilization, high-level disinfection, sterile storage, and OR liaison work. Experience with the Censitrac tracking system and Medivator is required. Candidates must hold either CBSPD or CRCST certification. Travelers should have worked in a facility similar to OSU. Previous permanent staff and return travelers are not eligible for return anywhere in the OSU system; return travelers are clinicians who have taken an assignment at any location within the OSU umbrella and are reapplying anywhere within it.

Requirements

• Experience across all areas of a sterile processing department.
• Experience decontaminating drills, Da Vinci equipment, and scopes.
• Experience assembling instruments across service lines, including trauma, loaners, and peel packaging.
• Experience with Sterrad and steam sterilization.
• High-level disinfection and scope experience.
• OR liaison experience.
• Censitrac tracking system experience.
• Medivator experience required.
• Certification through either CBSPD or CRCST (HSPA, formerly IAHCSMM).
• Traveler experience at a facility similar to OSU.
• Previous permanent staff and return travelers within the OSU system are not eligible for return.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate department items, including drills, Da Vinci equipment, and scopes.
• Assemble instruments across all service lines, including trauma instruments, loaners, and peel-packaged items.
• Perform sterilization processes using Sterrad and steam.
• Perform high-level disinfection and scope processing.
• Manage sterile storage.
• Serve as an OR liaison.
