Assists in managing the daily operations of the Sterile Processing and Distribution area. Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Two (2) years of experience in sterile processing and distribution with leadership experience.
Must be certified as CPSDT or any other Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA, formerly IAHCSMM) certifications listed: Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Manager (CSPDM), Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician (CSPDT), Certified in Sterile Processing Management (CSPM), Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST), Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL), Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS), Certified Endoscope Preprocessor (CER), or Certified Central Service Vendor Partner (CCSVP)

Nice To Haves

Associate's degree in a job related field preferred or enrollment in an Associate's degree program.

Responsibilities

Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts and vendor relations.
Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.
Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction and conflict management.
Performs and oversees scheduling, recruitment, and payroll.
Assesses the quality of services delivered.
Works closely with clinical areas to determine and meet their requirements for medical equipment and supplies.
