About The Position

The Sterile Processing Technician receives, cleans, sterilizes, and stores surgical instruments and equipment. This Decontamination role is in Surgical Services and is scheduled Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with no weekends. The role requires critical thinking, effective communication, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, and decisive judgment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician.
• Successful completion of a recognized training program in Central Sterile Processing.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document required quality assurance testing and inspections.
• Clean, disinfect, decontaminate, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment using appropriate methods and substances.
• Properly dispose of biohazardous substances, chemicals, medical waste, and supplies.
