About The Position

The STEPS Family Advocate Supervisor is responsible for the overall supervision of the STEPS prevention program and all personnel assigned to that department. The supervisor is responsible for providing training, guidance and management activities on all activities related to the STEPS prevention program. The mission of Family Support Services is to be the leader in providing safety, stability, and quality of life for all children by working with the community to strengthen the family unit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in social services required.
  • At least two years of child welfare experience
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to represent self and the organization in a highly professional manner
  • Ability to lead team
  • Ability to function independently to include follow through with assigned tasks
  • Ability to assess a situation and make appropriate recommendations/decisions
  • Ability to research, organize and analyze data

  • Ability to work effectively as a team member within the agency and for case management purposes

  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Clear a Level II Background screening (Live Scan)
  • Clear a reference check
  • Clear a local background check from the County in which you reside
  • Clear a substance abuse screen
  • Provide a copy of all degrees prior to your first day of employment
  • Clear a Motor Vehicles Records check
  • Proof of personal auto insurance coverage in the amount of $100,000/$300,000 or greater if not insurable under company's automobile policy
  • Clear an E-Verify check

Responsibilities

  • Provide training, guidance, support, and supervision to STEPS Family Advocates
  • Participate in the selection, hiring, and evaluation of staff
  • Monitors caseloads, schedules, training requirements, and individual staffing assignments
  • Reviews work of staff to ensure safety, compliance, confidentiality, timeliness, appropriateness, and completeness of services
  • Completes reports, admissions forms, and closure forms and reviews audit case files
  • Observes and reports client change in status to program director
  • Assists prevention specialist in identifying and coordinating available services for families and providing conflict resolution and crisis intervention services to families
