Rising Ground’s STEPS Criminalized Survivors Program (CSP) is an anti-intimate partner violence program offering trauma-informed, anti-oppressive programming focused on IPV prevention, advocacy, and healing for survivors and children. Founded in 1986, STEPS is survivor-centered, promoting support aligned with anti-oppressive, anti-racist, feminist/womanist principles to avoid re-traumatization. For over 30 years, STEPS CSP has provided comprehensive clinical and legal support to survivors of intimate partner violence or other gender-based violence who have been criminalized for resisting abuse, supporting those facing felony and/or misdemeanor charges across boroughs. The program also has an Advocate/Counselor at Manhattan and Brooklyn Family Justice Centers and a Training team leading the City's response to criminalized survivors. The STEPS CSP Supervisor will provide consistent supervision to direct service ATI staff, manage administrative and reporting needs for the ATI contract, carry a small caseload of ATI clients, and support the director with intakes, referrals, and funder reporting.
