About The Position

Under the supervision of the principal, the STEM Teacher K–8 serves primarily as a classroom teacher responsible for delivering high-quality, faith-filled STEM instruction aligned with Diocesan Curriculum Standards and the mission of Catholic education. In addition to classroom responsibilities, this position serves as an Instructional Coach supporting K–8 teachers in using student data to drive instruction, improve student achievement, and strengthen instructional practices across the school. The role also includes limited Assistant Principal responsibilities focused on supporting instructional leadership, faculty collaboration, and implementation of school-wide academic initiatives. This position assists the principal in promoting a strong Catholic identity, maintaining academic excellence, and fostering a positive, data-informed learning culture.

Requirements

  • Practicing Catholic willing to sign a Profession of Faith (required).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.
  • Arizona Department of Education teaching certification required.
  • Completion of Safe Environment Training and signed Code of Conduct.
  • Valid FBI Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Compliance with Diocesan Ministry Formation requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two years successful classroom teaching experience preferred.
  • Experience in STEM education strongly preferred.
  • Experience with data-driven instruction or instructional coaching preferred.
  • Administrative certification or pathway toward certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and delivers engaging STEM instruction aligned with Diocesan Curriculum Standards, integrates science, technology, engineering, and mathematics with faith-based learning, creates a structured, safe, and engaging classroom environment, uses hands-on, inquiry-based, and project-based learning strategies, differentiates instruction to meet diverse student needs, maintains lesson plans, grading, and accurate academic records, and uses technology to enhance instruction and student learning.
  • Serves as Instructional Coach for K–8 teachers in using student data to improve instruction, supports teachers in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting student assessment data, helps teachers identify learning gaps and adjust instruction accordingly, coaches faculty on using formative and summative assessments effectively, supports development of data-driven lesson planning and interventions, models effective instructional strategies and use of educational technology, facilitates professional conversations focused on student growth and achievement, and assists teachers in implementing targeted interventions based on data.
  • Assists the principal in supporting instructional excellence across K–8, participates in classroom observations and provides instructional feedback as directed, supports curriculum alignment and academic program implementation, assists with faculty collaboration, meetings, and professional development planning, helps promote consistent instructional practices across grade levels, supports school-wide academic initiatives and improvement goals, may assist in scheduling, coordination of programs, and school operations as needed, and serves in a supportive administrative capacity rather than primary operational leadership.
  • Uses ongoing assessment data to monitor student progress, aligns assessments with Diocesan Curriculum Standards, provides timely and constructive feedback to students, maintains accurate grading, attendance, and academic records, uses data to inform instructional decisions and interventions, and collaborates with teachers and administration to support student success.
  • Maintains positive relationships with students, parents, faculty, and parish community, communicates student progress and instructional goals effectively, participates in parent conferences, faculty meetings, and school events, supports co-curricular and extracurricular programs, and promotes a respectful, faith-centered school environment.
  • Participates in ongoing professional development in STEM education, Catholic formation, and instructional coaching, stays current with best practices in data-driven instruction and educational technology, engages in diocesan training, workshops, and professional learning communities, and contributes to school improvement efforts and maintains required certifications and professional records.
