About The Position
The Office of Community Engagement is seeking a STEM/Robotics Coach for Student Employment, specifically for Federal Work-Study students. This role involves setting up, greeting participants, providing supervision and guidance, and fostering a supportive environment for participants engaged in robotics projects. The coach will assist participants in developing and constructing projects, acting as a role model and supportive instructor. Additionally, the coach will help plan activities and suggest program enhancements.
Requirements
- Knowledge about robotics and coding
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to connect effectively with differing personality types and work collaboratively as part of a team
- Maintain childcare safety rules and maintain confidentiality regarding participant information
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with school-aged children is preferred
Responsibilities
- Arrive early to help set-up and greet participants
- Provide supervision, guidance and encourage a supportive/collaborative environment for participants
- Assist participants in envisioning, developing and constructing projects and completing group tasks to build their enthusiasm and interest for robotics
- Be a role model and supportive instructor for participants
- Assist in planning activities for participants and provide suggestions for program enhancements
