About The Position

The Metallus Internship Program is designed to integrate interns into the team, offering opportunities for skill development, leadership growth, and networking with managers and leaders. The program provides real work experience in a team environment and supports career readiness through workshops on resume building and interview preparation. This specific internship assignment is full-time for Summer 2027, starting on 05/17/2027. The intern will learn and develop skills to navigate CMMS and drawing systems for improved inventory management and critical asset reliability. A primary project will involve developing a process similar to ESB’s for a “Reliability Challenge,” creating a user-friendly tool for Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to proactively identify risks and improvement opportunities before downtime occurs. This process should capture downtime risks and improvement opportunities and incorporate enhancements to LOTOTO (Lockout/Tagout) plans specific to each asset.

Requirements

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Must have completed 30 or more credit hours by the end of the spring 2027 semester
  • Must be a full-time student attending an accredited two-year or four-year college/university
  • Basic experience in mechanical and/or electrical print reading

  • Preferred majors: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related

Responsibilities

  • Learn and develop skills to navigate CMMS and drawing systems to improve inventory management and the reliability of critical assets.

  • Design the process to be simple and user-friendly for consistent application.

  • Incorporate enhancements to LOTOTO plans specific to each asset within the process.
