About The Position

We are hiring a Steel Shipping & Loadout Supervisor to coordinate material shipments and guide daily loadout operations in a structural steel fabrication environment. This hands-on role focuses on safe material handling, shipment accuracy, team leadership, and on-time deliveries.

The position is located in Richmond, Virginia, and is a contract-to-hire role on second shift. Starting pay is $26.00 per hour plus a $3.00 per hour shift differential; higher pay may be available based on experience.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in structural steel handling or shipping operations.
• Minimum 2 years of team leadership or supervisory experience.
• Hands-on experience operating overhead cranes, telehandlers, vertical mast lifts, and forklifts.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Commitment to safe work practices and quality standards.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with Tekla EPMgo or comparable production and shipping software.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily steel shipping, loading, and loadout activities.
• Ensure steel materials are properly identified, secured, and ready for transport.
• Check material markings, load accuracy, load tickets, and shipping documents.
• Coordinate with production, logistics, and shop personnel to meet delivery deadlines.
• Maintain shipping records using production and shipping software.
• Train and assist team members while leading daily safety meetings.
• Enforce workplace safety and quality standards.
• Support workflow improvements and maintain efficient operations.
