About The Position

The Steel Erection Planner provides schedule planning, erection sequencing, logistics planning, and equipment selection for steel erection scopes on project pursuits and awarded projects. The role is based in St. Louis, with minimal travel. The planner supports project start-up and quality assurance, helps develop short-term work schedules, coordinates labor, materials, and equipment, and works with project teams and external partners to plan and execute steel erection work safely and effectively.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 10 years of construction-field experience as a supervisor.
Expertise with significant self-perform steel erection scopes.
Proficiency with Microsoft suite applications.
Familiarity with Primavera and Procore.
Knowledge of EWM procedures.

Responsibilities

Create project start-up guides and quality assurance programs.
Help read and develop one- to two-month look-ahead work schedules.
Schedule labor, materials, and equipment, and apply knowledge of EWM procedures.
Purchase project construction materials.
Read and understand contracts with owners and subcontractors.
Develop and maintain relationships with owners, engineers, craft workforce, and other contractors.
Participate in project planning meetings.
Set sequences and directions for field and subcontractor workforces.
Assist project managers with estimating change orders.
Prepare and sequence site logistics within budget and schedule constraints.
Anticipate and mitigate schedule conflicts involving subcontractors and self-performed work.
Provide schedule, erection sequencing, logistics, and equipment selection for steel erection scopes on pursuits and awarded projects.
