About The Position

We are seeking a passionate and engaging STEAM After School Instructor to lead our K-5th grade students in fun and educational STEAM activities. This role involves facilitating hands-on learning experiences from August to October, Monday through Friday, between 3:15 PM and 4:15 PM. The instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality programming that sparks curiosity and fosters a love for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.

Requirements

• Experience working with children in a K-5th grade setting.
• Knowledge and passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage a classroom and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Must be available to work Monday - Friday from 3:15 PM - 4:15 PM.
• Background check may be required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a teacher or camp counselor.
• Bachelor's degree in Education, STEAM field, or related area.
• Experience with curriculum development.
• First Aid/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead and instruct K-5th grade students in STEAM-focused activities.
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the STEAM curriculum.
• Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
• Provide constructive feedback to students on their progress and participation.
• Communicate effectively with program coordinators and site staff.
• Prepare materials and set up the classroom for daily activities.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Participate in training sessions and team meetings as required.
