About The Position
We are seeking a passionate and engaging STEAM After School Instructor to lead our Makers Club for K-2nd graders. This role involves facilitating hands-on learning experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. The instructor will be responsible for planning and delivering dynamic lessons that foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in young students.
Requirements
- Experience working with young children (K-2nd grade).
- Knowledge and passion for STEAM subjects.
- Ability to create and deliver engaging, hands-on activities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to pass a background check.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience as an after-school instructor or camp counselor.
- Background in education or a related STEAM field.
- Experience with specific maker technologies (e.g., robotics, coding, 3D printing).
Responsibilities
- Lead and instruct K-2nd grade students in STEAM activities within the Makers Club program.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with STEAM principles.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Manage classroom behavior and ensure student safety.
- Communicate effectively with program coordinators and parents.
- Prepare materials and set up the classroom for each session.
