About The Position
The Shames JCC is seeking an energetic, creative, and enthusiastic STEAM Activities Coordinator for our Almost Home after-school program serving children in Kindergarten through 4th grade. We are looking for someone who loves working with children and can bring science, technology, engineering, art, and math to life through exciting, hands-on activities, experiments, and creative challenges!
Requirements
- Experience working with elementary-aged children.
- Strong interest or background in STEAM education, enrichment, or hands-on learning.
- Creative, organized, dependable, and comfortable leading groups.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to supervise and guide supporting staff.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead five engaging, 30-minute STEAM activity rotations daily.
- Develop age-appropriate projects that connect with weekly program themes.
- Supervise and direct support staff during activities.
- Create a fun, safe, positive, and well-organized learning environment.
- Manage activity supplies, preparation, and classroom organization.
- Collaborate with our team on special events and program activities.
