About The Position

The Steakhouse Food Server provides an exceptional dining experience through polished, attentive, and knowledgeable service in an upscale steakhouse. The role requires strong menu and beverage knowledge, attention to detail, professional communication, and the ability to anticipate Guest needs while upholding service standards. The Server works with culinary, bar, host, and management teams to ensure accurate orders, appropriate course pacing, and a seamless experience from arrival through departure. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with company standards, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

Two years of restaurant serving experience; fine dining, upscale steakhouse, luxury hospitality, or another high-touch service environment is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to provide attentive, professional, and personalized Guest service.
Basic-to-intermediate knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktails, and food-and-beverage pairing.
Ability to learn and retain detailed food, wine, beverage, and service information.
Strong verbal communication, interpersonal, and Guest-service skills.
Ability to accurately manage multiple tables, orders, courses, and Guest requests simultaneously.
Ability to operate restaurant POS and payment-processing systems.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented service environment.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to obtain a UAIC Tribal Gaming License.
Normal or corrected vision, including color vision and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
Ability to bend and reach for supplies and equipment and push carts.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
Manual dexterity to operate job-related equipment.

Responsibilities

Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “ELITE” service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards.
Greet guests promptly and professionally and establish a welcoming dining experience.
Maintain thorough knowledge of food, beverage, and wine offerings, including steak cuts, preparations, temperatures, accompaniments, sauces, and enhancements.
Guide guests through the menu and make recommendations based on their preferences.
Know ingredients, common allergens, dietary considerations, and available menu modifications.
Accurately take and enter food and beverage orders using the restaurant POS system.
Verify order accuracy and communicate special requests, allergies, and dietary restrictions appropriately.
Coordinate with culinary and support teams to ensure proper meal timing and coursing.
Serve food and beverages according to fine-dining service standards.
Maintain tables throughout the dining experience, including clearing, resetting, replacing utensils, and maintaining glassware.
Monitor Guest satisfaction and proactively address needs or concerns.
Present and explain wine, cocktail, spirit, and beverage selections as appropriate.
Practice responsible alcohol service and comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
Professionally suggest menu offerings based on Guest preferences, including appetizers, premium cuts, enhancements, sides, beverages, wines, and desserts.
Present Guest checks accurately and process payments according to company procedures.
Keep assigned dining and service areas clean, organized, and presentation-ready.
Complete opening, closing, and assigned side-work responsibilities.
Maintain professional grooming, appearance, demeanor, and conduct consistent with fine-dining standards.
Handle Guest information and interactions with professionalism and discretion.
Participate in pre-shift meetings, menu tastings, wine and beverage education, and other required training.
