About The Position

JLL is seeking an experienced Boiler Operator to join their facilities management team. This role involves operating and monitoring critical building systems in a central utility plant, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and related equipment. The position requires a strong emphasis on troubleshooting, repair, and operations, primarily covering the 1st shift in Mason, with potential support at other Cincinnati facilities and hours outside of normal shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Ohio Stationary Steam Engineer license.
Minimum 2-3 years’ experience operating boiler and chiller systems.
Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on equipment experience.
Knowledge of HVAC systems, steam, and hydronic systems.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Flexibility to learn new systems and willingness to take direction and work independently.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Ability to work in mechanical rooms with varying temperatures.
Capable of lifting to 50 pounds.
Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods.
Manual dexterity for operating controls and performing maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

Operate and monitor high-pressure boilers, steam systems, and related safety equipment.
Operate and maintain chiller systems, cooling towers, and associated pumps.
Conduct routine equipment inspections and performance monitoring.
Monitor computerized building management systems (BMS) and control panels.
Perform start-up and shutdown procedures for all utility plant equipment.
Maintain proper water treatment and chemical levels.
Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to scheduled protocols.
Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly equipment checks and log readings.
Report critical issues and system failures to management teams.
Respond to emergency situations and equipment alarms.
Follow lockout/tagout procedures and safety protocols.
Monitor energy consumption and identify efficiency opportunities.
