About The Position

JLL is seeking an experienced Boiler Operator to join their facilities management team. This role involves operating and monitoring critical building systems in a central utility plant, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and related equipment. The position requires a strong emphasis on troubleshooting, repair, and operations, primarily covering the 1st shift in Mason, with potential support at other Cincinnati facilities and hours outside of normal shifts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ohio Stationary Steam Engineer license.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience operating boiler and chiller systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on equipment experience.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, steam, and hydronic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Flexibility to learn new systems and willingness to take direction and work independently.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Ability to work in mechanical rooms with varying temperatures.
  • Capable of lifting to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity for operating controls and performing maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor high-pressure boilers, steam systems, and related safety equipment.
  • Operate and maintain chiller systems, cooling towers, and associated pumps.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and performance monitoring.
  • Monitor computerized building management systems (BMS) and control panels.
  • Perform start-up and shutdown procedures for all utility plant equipment.
  • Maintain proper water treatment and chemical levels.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to scheduled protocols.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly equipment checks and log readings.
  • Report critical issues and system failures to management teams.
  • Respond to emergency situations and equipment alarms.
  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures and safety protocols.
  • Monitor energy consumption and identify efficiency opportunities.
