About The Position

JLL is seeking an experienced Boiler Operator to join their facilities management team to operate and monitor critical building systems in their central utility plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and related equipment to maintain optimal building comfort and operational efficiency. Heavy emphasis on troubleshooting, repair and operations will be required for this position. This position primarily covers 1st shift in Mason but may require support at other Cincinnati Facilities and hours outside of normal shift.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Flexibility to learn new systems and willingness to take direction and work independently
  • Ohio Stationary Steam Engineer license
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience operating boiler and chiller systems
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on equipment experience
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, steam, and hydronic systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Ability to work in mechanical rooms with varying temperatures
  • Capable of lifting to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods
  • Manual dexterity for operating controls and performing maintenance tasks
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Equipment operation, monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Monitor and operate high-pressure boilers, steam systems, and related safety equipment
  • Operate and maintain chiller systems, cooling towers, and associated pumps
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and performance monitoring
  • Monitor computerized building management systems (BMS) and control panels
  • Perform start-up and shutdown procedures for all utility plant equipment
  • Maintain proper water treatment and chemical levels
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to scheduled protocols
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly equipment checks and log readings
  • Report critical issues and system failures to management teams
  • Respond to emergency situations and equipment alarms
  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures and safety protocols
  • System Optimization
  • Monitor energy consumption and identify efficiency opportunities
