About The Position

NorthRiver Midstream is seeking a Temporary Steam Operator to join their Operations team. This is a safety-sensitive, temporary position with no travel required. Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent technical training
  • 3rd Class Power Engineering Certification, valid in BC
  • Valid BC Class 5 drivers license
  • Strong focus on safety
  • Strong team player capable of working with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • 2nd Class Power Engineering Certification, valid in BC
  • 3+ years experience as a shift operator in oil/gas industry
  • Processing facility mechanical aptitude
  • Familiar with environmental permit requirements, policies, and reporting procedures; spill control and clean up procedures

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of safe operating procedures.
  • Complete all North River Midstream training as required.
  • Operate all plant systems for respective area in a safe, effective and efficient manner, meeting all regulatory requirements and focusing on continuous improvement of operating practices, plant reliability and production.
  • Manage day to day operations activities of assigned plant area(s) including: Equipment preparation and lock out for maintenance, Regular plant safety equipment inspections, Operator equipment checks and process equipment readings, Issue of work permits for the area(s) of responsibility, Input of notifications for failed equipment within assigned area(s).
  • Troubleshoot equipment and/or process problems.
  • Understand and apply environmental permit requirements, policies, and reporting procedures; spill control and clean up procedures.
  • Communicate all process changes and concerns at the end of shift; completing the daily shift log.
  • Apply safety practices, procedures; reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses.
  • Work in a team environment within the Steam Operations department.
