The State of Connecticut, Secretary of State (SOTS) is recruiting for a State Program Manager. The ideal candidate for this position thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to delivering exceptional administrative and fiscal support in service of the agency's mission. This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position, Monday through Friday, located in Hartford, CT. The role involves the administration of federal, state, and local elections, implementation of election procedures, practices, and new legislation. The candidate will be responsible for implementing new programs, procedures, and practices from conception through legislation, election day, and beyond. They should be comfortable handling difficult situations with professionalism, able to reach diverse populations, and possess strong communication skills to represent the agency. A passion for promoting participation in the democratic process and experience in project/program management and election administration are key. The Office of the Secretary of the State provides a wide range of services for the people and businesses of Connecticut, acting as a repository of records and providing information on business filings, elections, and authentication. The Legislation and Elections Administration Division (LEAD) specifically administers, interprets, and implements all state and federal laws pertaining to elections, primaries, nominating procedures, and voting rights, while also serving as the official keeper of legislative documents and administering Connecticut's notary public program.
