About The Position

Mapfre Insurance is seeking highly motivated, intellectually curious college students to join our State Management Analytics Summer Internship Program for a 10-week internship from June 7th - August 13th in Webster, Massachusetts. Our internship program provides highly motivated college students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, contribute to real business initiatives, and work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative, fast-paced, and supportive environment. As a Mapfre intern, you'll work on impactful projects that directly support business objectives while gaining valuable insight into the insurance industry. You'll develop professional skills, learn about departmental and corporate operations, build your network through interactions with leaders and fellow interns, and participate in program-wide learning experiences. Interns also come together to give back through a team-based Day of Caring community service project. The State Management Analytics Team plays a critical role in helping Mapfre make data-driven business decisions. The team analyzes premium, agency, and claims data to uncover trends, generate actionable insights, and identify opportunities to drive growth and profitability within Massachusetts' largest personal automobile insurance company. As a State Management Analytics Intern, you will have the opportunity to work with real business data and contribute insights that help shape strategic decisions. You will analyze Mapfre's data to identify business improvement opportunities and develop recommendations that will be presented to senior leadership. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact while gaining firsthand exposure to analytics, business strategy, and the insurance industry.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong database skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • SQL experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with one or more programming languages preferred, including: Python, R, Java Or similar programming languages
