About The Position
As a Southern Star Starlink Technician, you will install and service Starlink satellite internet for homes in rural and underserved communities. The role includes helping customers get online and showing them how to use their new service. The position offers a training/base pay rate of $20.00 per hour, with the base rate increasing by $0.50 after 60 days of employment. After training, the guaranteed hourly rate is $25.00 per hour through the first nine months. If the post-training base rate plus bonuses and commissions do not reach the guaranteed hourly rate, pay will be increased to that rate. Earning potential may be higher through commissions and performance bonuses. Southern Star describes this role as a career path: Starlink Technician, Senior Technician, and Master Technician. Advancement brings additional skills and responsibility, including work across partner products and services. Paid training and ongoing support are provided. A company vehicle is provided after training. Requirements
- Strong technical knowledge.
- Ability to climb ladders up to 38 feet and work in crawl spaces.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time; lodging and per diem are covered by SSI.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and Motor Vehicle Record check.
Responsibilities
- Install and service Starlink satellite internet equipment.
- Help customers get online and explain how to make the most of their new service.
- Offer customers additional products and services during installations.
- Develop customer skills and commission and bonus earnings.
- As career progression permits, take on more complex work and expand skills across partner products and services.
