About The Position

The Starbucks Barista sells and prepares Starbucks coffee beverages according to Starbucks standards, providing caring hospitality and exceptional customer service through product knowledge. The role includes working across coffee, beverage, espresso, and pastry stations; preparing and presenting products to recipe and speed-of-service standards; maintaining stock, product presentation, equipment, and work areas; and following applicable company, Starbucks, and Health Department standards. The position requires a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and potentially day, evening, or holiday shifts. Part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12–24 hours per week, with hours dependent on business needs and colleague availability.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods and perform reaching, crouching, kneeling, and stooping as needed.
Frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Use computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and process register transactions.

Nice To Haves

1–2 years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate current working knowledge of drip coffee, cold beverage, espresso bar, and pastry stations.
Follow company standards and maintain the work area and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards.
Follow Starbucks Simple Service Steps and Magic Selling skills to provide an exceptional customer experience.
Educate, sample, and serve customers food and beverage products.
Perform station-specific duties and responsibilities.
Open and/or close the area using the appropriate checklist and verify completion with the Manager on Duty before leaving.
Maintain PAR stock levels and product presentation standards.
Prepare and present products according to Starbucks recipes while meeting speed-of-service standards.
Follow Starbucks merchandising and signing standards.
Maintain personal hygiene and professional dress in compliance with company, Starbucks, and Health Department standards.
Perform other duties as needed.
