About The Position

EG Group is hiring a full-time Starbucks Assistant Manager in Elgin. The role is advertised at 25+ hours per week, with flexible shift patterns designed to work around availability. The hourly rate is £13.80. The Assistant Manager supports the day-to-day running of the store, leads operations in the Store Manager’s absence, and helps deliver excellent customer experiences and commercial results. The role combines team leadership and development with customer service, beverage preparation, stock management, food safety, and maintaining store standards. As this is a food establishment, there may be potential exposure to allergens in the workplace.

Requirements

• Experience leading or supervising a team in hospitality, retail, or a customer-focused environment.
• Confident, approachable leadership style, with the ability to motivate and coach others.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Proactive mindset and confidence making decisions in a fast-paced environment.

• Previous management experience is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Act as second-in-command, delegate tasks, and help create a positive and supportive working environment.
• Coach, develop, and inspire team members through guidance, feedback, and mentoring.
• Support rota planning in line with budgets and labour targets, and encourage the team to maximise promotions and enhance the customer experience.
• Recognise and celebrate individual and team achievements.
• Take ownership of store operations in the Store Manager’s absence and maintain Starbucks standards.
• Manage stock, oversee inventory control and reporting, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and minimise waste.
• Maintain merchandising, product availability, presentation, and food safety standards.
• Ensure Health & Safety, Food Safety, hygiene, and cash handling procedures are followed.
• Support customers and prepare beverages.
