About The Position

This position is responsible for independently and efficiently setting up and maintaining process controls on equipment to meet customer specifications. The role involves operating, troubleshooting, and optimizing equipment to reduce scrap, cycle times, and changeover times. The technician will coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality standards are met, utilize part weights and metals data for process improvement, and document production data. Responsibilities also include performing start-up and shut-down processes, end-of-arm robot setup and modifications, and general housekeeping. The role requires maintaining compliance with ISO/TS16949:2002, ISO14001:2004, and OSHA standards, as well as assisting with workstation setups during mold changes.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of TPO’s/ABS/PC’s.
  • Industrial equipment electrical troubleshooting and installation.
  • Must have programming experience.
  • Able to read electrical schematics and drawings.
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Follows work instructions and oral direction.
  • Responsible for operation, and troubleshooting, equipment.
  • Optimizes machine processes by reducing scrap, cycle times and change over times.
  • Responsible for coordination of manufacturing activities to ensure good production and quality.
  • Uses part weights and metals data for a systematic approach to improve the running process.
  • Describes system, components, and parts operating characteristics and malfunctions by writing technical reports.
  • Performs start up and shut down processes on the presses.
  • Tests functioning of installed equipment.
  • Compiles and documents production data.
  • Communicates all issues with Maintenance/Quality/Supervisors.
  • Performs end of arm set up and modifications of the robots as required.
  • Oversees in-house tooling and material evaluations to ensure optimum performance.
  • Sets-up injection molds and performs start-up and shut-down of molding systems.
  • Performs general housekeeping duties as required in work areas.
  • Assists in setup of workstation during a mold change or as required.
  • Responsible for maintaining ISO/TS16949:2002 compliance within the manufacturing discipline.
  • Responsible for maintaining ISO14001:2004 compliance with the manufacturing discipline.
  • Responsible for maintaining OSHA compliance.
  • Has the responsibility to aid in the provision of a safe and clean work environment by participating in the safety process (e.g., conducting internal safety audits, investigation of accidents, communication of safety related information).
