Requirements

  • Be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship.
  • Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired if applicable.
  • Proficiency in French (spoken and written).
  • Currently pursuing studies in Occupational Health and Safety, Human Resources Management, or Industrial Relations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams).
  • Strong analytical and summarization skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain and promote EHS concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong teamwork, collaboration, and attention to detail in a large, dynamic organization.
  • Relevant experience in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Functional English proficiency. Although this position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a working knowledge of English to read and understand specialized instructions, plans, drawings and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and sometimes communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventive EHS inspections across various departments.
  • Support the execution of activities outlined in the annual EHS plan.
  • Participate in incident investigations and prepare incident reports.
  • Monitor and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Participate in EHS risk assessments for workstations and job tasks.
  • Provide guidance and support in the application of EHS-related legislation, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
  • Recommend improvements to EHS policies, procedures, and work methods.
  • Identify, assess, and recommend corrective actions for risks associated with existing and new equipment and processes, with the goal of eliminating hazards at the source and preventing workplace injuries.
