Requirements

  • Eligibility to work in Canada.
  • Enrollment in a Canadian CEGEP or university for the entire duration of the internship.
  • Ability to work on-site in the province where you are hired, if applicable.
  • Pursuing studies in Environmental Sciences or demonstrating relevant experience in the field.
  • Excellent communication skills in French (oral and written).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly PowerPoint and Excel).
  • Ability to communicate clearly and simplify complex information.

Responsibilities

  • Providing training to plant employees on hazardous and non-hazardous waste segregation, water and energy management, and air emissions, while supporting improvements to current practices.
  • Conducting field inspections to ensure compliance with environmental rules (both legal and corporate).
  • Contributing to the preparation and execution of various activities organized by the Environment group, including internal communications.
  • Actively participating in the activities of the water, industrial waste, and greenhouse gas management committees, including implementing certain projects and potentially identifying new opportunities to reduce the environmental impacts of operations.
  • Supporting the team in tracking environmental incidents and calculating the costs associated with managing these events.
  • Having the opportunity to attend certain training activities for environmental specialists (internal or external), notably through the CPEQ, of which P&WC is a member and partner.
