The University of Ottawa's teacher education program is recruiting faculty advisors to support student teachers in elementary, intermediate, and secondary school placements. This role is part of a practical and reflective training process aimed at fostering the professional development of future teachers. The faculty advisor will provide pedagogical and emotional support to gradually develop professional teaching competencies through constructive, targeted feedback adapted to the student teacher's level. They will establish effective remote supervision methods using appropriate digital tools, ensuring adherence to ethical principles and confidentiality. The advisor will actively support the in-school cooperating teacher to ensure consistency and complementarity in student teacher supervision. This includes planning, conducting, and documenting observation sessions, as well as remote dyad and triad feedback meetings using digital tools that facilitate reflective analysis. The advisor will also participate in a mandatory information session on September 17, 2026, from 10 am to 12 pm, and facilitate stage seminars on specific dates in October, November, and December 2026. Finally, they will assign the summative grade for the stage and enter it into the designated system within 10 days of the stage's completion.
