Development Engineering is responsible for the experimental validation and testing of engine product designs. Our controls discipline within the organization looks after the configuration of engine control system software and hardware for real engine tests. The chosen candidate will continue supporting the development of a programming unit for an electronic engine controller unit using Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) devices. The intern will devise a system for a real engine component test. Technical aspects will involve interfacing with different protocol systems, physical hardware and electronic devices, and software tools to achieve component test requirements. The intern will use baseline data to verify their system concept and produce a usable programming device. A demo of the work done and report for recommendations for future work will be expected at the conclusion of the work term

Requirements

  • Be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship.
  • Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired if applicable.
  • Pursuing a degree in Mechatronics, Aerospace, Electrical, or Controls Systems Engineering.
  • Experience with electronic Laboratory measurement equipment (Oscilloscope, multimeter).
  • Advanced experience with C/C++.
  • Excellent communication skills in French (spoken/written).
  • English reading and writing are an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Studying and adapting procedures and technical schematics to program engine controllers.
  • Interacting with technicians and engineering staff for coaching to develop your system.
  • Prototyping / developing the COTS devices to interface with the engine controller hardware.
  • Document your development findings.
