Staffing Coordinator - Bend Transitional Care
About The Position
At Bend Transitional Care, we are a 60-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in beautiful Bend, Oregon, providing compassionate transitional and post-hospital care to help our residents regain their strength, independence, and confidence as they work toward returning home or transitioning to their next stage of care. We’re looking for a ROCKSTAR Scheduler to join our team and make a meaningful impact. This is a fast-paced, highly important role for someone who is organized, resourceful, dependable, and thrives on solving problems. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our residents receive the care they need by helping maintain appropriate CNA staffing coverage across the facility. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with employees, applicants, supervisors, and leadership.
- Ability to prioritize, make sound staffing decisions, and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer-based scheduling systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, work independently, and collaborate effectively with the nursing leadership team
Nice To Haves
- Six months of experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, healthcare, or a similar environment preferred.
- Previous experience coordinating employee schedules, staffing coverage, or shift assignments preferred.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment requiring strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains daily, weekly, and ongoing CNA staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage based on resident census, staffing requirements, budget, and facility needs.
- Coordinates staffing for all CNA shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Monitors staffing levels and identifies potential coverage concerns in advance.
- Responds to employee call-ins and works with nursing leadership to arrange appropriate coverage.
- Answers employee questions regarding schedules, shift assignments, open shifts, and staffing needs.
- Maintains accurate records of schedules, shift changes, call-ins, open shifts, and staffing coverage.
- Communicates staffing changes and schedule updates to employees and appropriate nursing leadership in a timely manner.
- Works collaboratively with the Director of Nursing, nursing supervisors, and other department leaders to address staffing needs and coverage concerns.
- Assists with maintaining accurate attendance and tardiness records and provides documentation to nursing leadership as appropriate.
- Assists with coordinating interviews and communicating with applicants regarding available nursing positions, as directed by facility leadership.
- Identifies recurring scheduling and staffing concerns and communicates recommendations to nursing leadership.
- Maintains confidentiality of employee and resident information.
- Performs job responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct, policies and procedures, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned by facility administration.
