Staff Test Engineer - Automated Test Equipment

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc•Austin, TX

About The Position

Join AMD’s results-oriented Test Engineering team and contribute to the quality, cost, and time-to-market of AMD microprocessors. The role spans the product lifecycle, including understanding pre-silicon product features, developing characterization test plans, identifying coverage gaps, and building software and hardware infrastructure for test execution. The engineer collaborates with Design and Platform Engineering teams and can influence future test strategies and product improvements. Post-silicon work involves microprocessor debug and characterization challenges related to silicon performance, yield, manufacturing processes, and device marginalities. The engineer works across teams on root-cause analysis, contributes to datasheet specifications, and identifies improvements to product performance, quality, and yield. The role is accountable for the quality and timeliness of assigned project outcomes and includes test planning, creation, characterization, data analysis, and silicon debug for advanced process technologies. The position develops and debugs Automated Test Equipment (ATE) test patterns and flows, supports device testability and manufacturability from development through production, and implements product improvements to reduce cost, increase yield, and resolve quality issues. A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering is required. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
