About The Position

The (USA) Staff, Software Engineer plays a critical role in delivering scalable platform capabilities and driving the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance. This position leads technical execution aligned with strategic roadmaps, applies cloud-native architecture principles, and integrates AI/ML components to enhance automation and product innovation. The role involves mentoring engineers, influencing architectural decisions, collaborating across teams, and continuously improving engineering practices to ensure high-quality, maintainable solutions that meet business objectives and support long-term technical sustainability. Immigration Sponsorship support will NOT be available for this position. The team develops a platform to enhance Walmart’s restaurant delivery services, beginning with Express delivery for Subway locations inside Walmart stores. It supports multiple restaurant partners by creating reliable solutions for onboarding, integration, and order management. Team members utilize cloud-native architecture and software design principles to build scalable, resilient, and efficient systems. Collaboration with product and business stakeholders ensures alignment with customer requirements. The team prioritizes innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement to advance this strategic platform and deliver impactful results.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to ensure scalable and resilient systems.
  • Strong proficiency in software design patterns, API design, and platform development to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Experience leading full software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance.
  • Ability to conduct thorough design reviews and apply debugging and remedial actions to maintain code quality.
  • Skilled in integrating AI/ML components and developing intelligent automation using languages such as Python, JavaScript, and C++.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and data-driven decision-making to optimize engineering processes.
  • Effective collaboration and mentorship capabilities to support team growth and technical excellence.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
