About The Position

The (USA) Staff, Software Engineer plays a critical role in delivering scalable platform capabilities and driving the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance. This position leads technical initiatives aligned with strategic roadmaps, applying cloud-native architecture principles to enhance system resilience and agility. The role involves mentoring engineers, collaborating across teams, and integrating AI/ML solutions to advance product innovation. The engineer ensures high-quality, maintainable software while fostering continuous improvement and operational excellence to meet evolving business and customer needs. The Marketplace Engineering team at Walmart Global Tech drives innovation in global commerce through the Walmart Marketplace platform. This team builds advanced tools that enable sellers to efficiently manage digital storefronts, pricing, and inventory while ensuring excellent customer experiences. They design intelligent, resilient systems spanning the entire seller lifecycle and integrate with partner platforms across Walmart’s ecosystem. Focused on scalable, data-driven solutions, the team leverages expertise in software design, cloud-native architecture, and DevOps to deliver reliable services that empower sellers and enhance shopping for millions worldwide.

Requirements

  • Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to ensure scalable and resilient systems.
  • Strong experience in software development lifecycle management, encompassing coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in API design, software prototyping, and applying software design patterns for secure, modular, and maintainable solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and lead technical decision-making aligned with architectural best practices.
  • Skilled in data-driven problem solving, debugging, and requirements analysis to deliver high-quality software products.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills to engage stakeholders and translate complex problems into actionable tasks.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and adapting to evolving technologies and business needs.
  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area
