About The Position
As a Staff Software Engineer at Walmart, you will lead the design and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, driving the full software development lifecycle with a focus on cloud-native architecture and AI/ML integration. Requirements
- Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to ensure scalable and resilient systems.
- Strong proficiency in software design patterns, API design, and software prototyping to develop maintainable and modular solutions.
- Experience leading full software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and observability.
- Skilled in Java programming and familiar with DevOps engineering practices to enhance platform capabilities and developer productivity.
- Ability to apply data-driven decision making and remedial action to optimize engineering processes and product quality.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, mentorship, and collaboration across cross-functional teams to drive engineering excellence.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
- 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
- Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

- Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap priorities.
- Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
- Conduct system design reviews to validate quality and alignment with architectural standards.
- Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components and automation features.
- Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex problems into actionable technical requirements.
- Continuously improve processes, tools, and products through innovation and data-driven practices.
