Join Walmart as a Staff Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, including infrastructure, tooling, and AI/ML frameworks. Requirements

  • Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to ensure scalable and resilient systems.
  • Strong experience in software development lifecycle management, encompassing coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in API design, software prototyping, and application of software design patterns for secure, modular, and maintainable solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical design reviews and deliver high-quality platform capabilities aligned with strategic roadmaps.
  • Skilled in mentoring engineers, fostering technical growth, and promoting engineering excellence through continuous improvement.
  • Experience integrating AI/ML components and driving data-driven decision making to solve complex problems.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills to engage cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap priorities.
  • Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
  • Lead system design reviews to validate quality and alignment with architectural standards.
  • Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components and automation features.
  • Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and track success metrics.
  • Continuously improve processes, tools, and products through innovation and data-driven insights.
