About The Position

The (USA) Staff, Software Engineer plays a critical role in delivering scalable platform capabilities by leading software development and lifecycle management, including coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance. About the team: The Walmart Fulfillment Services Billing team within the Global Marketplace organization focuses on designing and building scalable, resilient billing solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support growth. This team emphasizes auditability, traceability, quality, and reliability in processing invoices, incentives, and adjustments. Members drive architectural excellence, adopt modern technologies including AI capabilities, and collaborate across teams to solve complex challenges in a distributed, high-scale environment. The team values technical leadership, innovation, and continuous improvement to deliver robust software solutions aligned with business objectives.

Requirements

• Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to deliver scalable and resilient platforms.
• Strong proficiency in Java and experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark and Apache Kafka.
• Demonstrated ability to lead full software development lifecycle activities, including design reviews, CI/CD deployment, and observability.
• Experience in API design, software prototyping, and applying software design patterns for maintainable and modular solutions.
• Skilled in DevOps engineering practices to enhance developer productivity and platform reliability.
• Ability to mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence through continuous improvement.
• Data-driven mindset to define metrics, optimize processes, and align technical solutions with business goals.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
• 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
• Creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
