About The Position

We are looking for an experienced Staff Software Engineer to join the Walmart Fulfillment Services Billing team within the Global Marketplace organization. In this hands-on technical role, you will design and build scalable, resilient billing solutions that support WFS growth and improve operational efficiency. You will help define how invoices, incentives, and adjustments are processed for WFS service offerings, with a strong focus on auditability, traceability, quality, and reliability. You will also drive architectural excellence, evaluate and adopt modern technologies including AI capabilities, and lead through influence across teams to solve complex problems in a distributed, high-scale environment. About the team: The Walmart Fulfillment Services Billing team within the Global Marketplace organization focuses on designing and building scalable, resilient billing solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support growth. The team emphasizes auditability, traceability, quality, and reliability in processing invoices, incentives, and adjustments. Requirements

Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to ensure scalable and resilient systems.
Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for developing robust backend services and APIs.
Experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark and Apache Kafka to support data-driven decision making.
Demonstrated ability to lead software design reviews and apply software design patterns for maintainable, modular solutions.
Skilled in DevOps engineering, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure tooling to accelerate development and deployment.
Ability to mentor engineers and influence technical decisions promoting engineering excellence and sustainability.
Aptitude for integrating AI/ML components and building intelligent automation features.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area

Responsibilities

Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities.
Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
Conduct system design reviews to validate feasibility and ensure quality and alignment with architectural standards.
Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components and intelligent automation features.
Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence through documentation and knowledge sharing.
Collaborate cross-functionally to define technical requirements and track success metrics using data-driven practices.
