About The Position
Walmart is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the development and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, including infrastructure, tooling, and AI/ML frameworks. This role involves driving the full software lifecycle, applying cloud-native architecture principles, and ensuring technical excellence through design reviews and mentorship. The successful candidate will collaborate across teams to translate complex requirements into actionable solutions, promote engineering best practices, and continuously improve processes. This position demands strong technical judgment, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, maintainable software aligned with business objectives. The AdTech Measurement and Reporting team develops scalable, cloud-native platforms for real-time data processing and AI integration. The team delivers detailed performance insights that support informed decision-making and business goals. Collaborating across functions, members design robust tools to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency. Utilizing advanced engineering principles, software design patterns, and data-driven methods, the team ensures reliable, high-quality outputs. Focused on continuous innovation and alignment with strategic objectives, this group advances Walmart’s technology solutions through disciplined development, testing, and delivery practices.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to ensure scalable and resilient systems.
- Strong experience in software development lifecycle management, encompassing coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in API design, software prototyping, and applying software design patterns for secure, modular, and maintainable solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical design reviews and remedial actions to uphold quality and alignment with architectural standards.
- Skilled in DevOps engineering practices to enhance infrastructure, tooling, and developer productivity.
- Data-driven decision-making skills to define metrics, optimize processes, and deliver measurable engineering outcomes.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction to promote engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
- 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
- Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
