•$204,000 - $290,000•Remote

About The Position

The Account Management team is part of Trust & Safety within Affirm’s Checkout organization. It builds secure, intuitive experiences that help customers protect, manage, and recover access to their accounts. The team’s mission is to make account security seamless without unnecessary friction, so customers can confidently use Affirm. The work spans the account security journey, from detecting and preventing unauthorized access to enabling self-service recovery and reducing the need for customer support. The team owns experiences such as Self-Service Phone Change, Settings & Security Center, and account information updates. These solutions affect customer trust, fraud prevention, and Affirm’s ability to scale safely. The Staff Software Engineer will set technical strategy for the team on a year-long time scale and help deliver critical, business-impacting projects. The role collaborates with product management, design, and analytics throughout product development, ensuring technical sustainability, risks, and trade-offs are understood and managed. It also promotes technical solutions and operational processes, owns team operations and availability, establishes quality standards, and develops team talent through feedback, guidance, and example. Affirm is a remote-first company, and most roles can be performed from almost anywhere within the country of employment. Some positions may occasionally require in-person work at an Affirm office, and all new hires are invited to attend an in-person onboarding experience.
