Staff Software Engineer, Cybersecurity
About The Position
Bloom Energy is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Cybersecurity to help secure its cloud infrastructure, software delivery processes, and technology systems. The role is based in San Jose, California, and is fully on-site in the office five days a week. It reports to the Senior Director of Software Engineering. The position focuses on implementing cloud security controls, building secure CI/CD pipelines, protecting infrastructure as code, automating compliance checks, enforcing encryption, and supporting vulnerability management and incident response. Bloom Energy develops solid oxide fuel cell and electrolyzer technologies for critical industries and is committed to equal employment opportunity and supporting employee well-being. Requirements
- Approximately five years of experience in cloud security or DevSecOps.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP; CI/CD; containers; and infrastructure as code.
- Strong Python and shell scripting (Bash) skills.
- Familiarity with software supply chain security.
- Understanding of standard SDLC practices.
- Proficiency with Git and familiarity with Jira and Confluence.

Responsibilities
- Implement cloud security controls, including IAM, network security, secrets management, and runtime protection.
- Build and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines incorporating SAST, DAST, SCA, and secrets scanning.
- Secure infrastructure as code using Terraform or Pulumi and automate compliance checks.
- Enforce encryption in transit and at rest.
- Support vulnerability management and incident response.
