About The Position

Bloom Energy is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to help advance its cybersecurity capabilities. Bloom Energy develops solid oxide fuel cell and solid oxide electrolyzer technologies for reliable, affordable energy. This role is based in San Jose, California, is fully onsite in the office five days a week, and reports to the Senior Director of Software Engineering. The posting refers to the role as Principal Software Engineer, Edge Compute in its description, while the title is Principal Software Engineer, Cybersecurity. The engineer will define cybersecurity direction across cloud, edge, infrastructure as code, application security, and DevSecOps; establish secure software development lifecycle practices; lead data-protection architecture; strengthen supply-chain security; and mentor engineers in security-by-design practices.

Requirements

8–12+ years of experience in software or security engineering.
Strong expertise in cloud security, DevSecOps, and application security.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code security, SBOM, and supply-chain validation.
Strong Python and Bash shell scripting skills.
Solid understanding of standard SDLC practices.
Proficiency with Git and familiarity with Jira and Confluence.

Golang skills.
