This is a hands-on role with broad influence, working across Product and Engineering and partnering with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Support, Finance, and Compliance to deliver reliable, scalable experiences across Storable’s FMS, CRM, Commerce, Marketplace, and shared technology capabilities. The role also helps Storable adopt AI-native ways of working and build intelligent capabilities that improve customer outcomes, engineering productivity, and operational decision-making.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software development experience, including strong expertise in distributed systems, APIs, and service-oriented architecture.
  • Experience leading the design and delivery of complex systems across multiple teams, with a record of turning architecture decisions into adopted solutions.
  • Experience operating highly available, production-critical systems at meaningful scale, with strong judgment around performance, reliability, and cost.
  • Ability to influence across organizational boundaries, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and build alignment without direct authority.
  • Hands-on engineering practice, including writing code, reviewing designs, prototyping solutions, and using production data to guide decisions.
  • AI fluency, with experience using AI tools or GenAI techniques to improve engineering productivity, product capabilities, or operational workflows.
  • Currently authorized to work full-time in the United States and able to work a hybrid schedule in the Bellevue, WA office.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with FMS, CRM, commerce, payments, or subscription systems, especially across multiple markets or regulatory environments.
  • Experience with agentic systems, AI/GenAI application patterns, evaluation frameworks, or AI-native software development practices.
  • Experience with resiliency engineering, including graceful degradation, blast-radius isolation, chaos testing, and production recovery.
  • Experience building simulation, forecasting, experimentation, or ML-driven recommendation systems.
  • Experience mentoring senior engineers and helping them grow toward Staff-level scope and technical judgment.
  • Experience with international expansion, local payment methods, compliance requirements, or market-specific product adaptation.

Responsibilities

  • Own technical direction for a major platform, product area, or cross-team domain, translating strategy into an executable architecture and roadmap.
  • Design distributed systems, services, and data contracts that meet requirements for scalability, availability, performance, and cost.
  • Lead architecture evolution across multiple teams, including decomposition, interface harmonization, platform adoption, and migration planning.
  • Write code, review designs, prototype solutions, and resolve difficult technical issues in the critical path.
  • Improve operational excellence through observability, graceful degradation, incident learning, recovery practices, and clear service ownership.
  • Partner with Product and business stakeholders to prioritize technical investments that improve customer experience, reduce transaction failures, and increase delivery speed.
  • Design and deliver AI- and GenAI-enabled capabilities, including agent-callable interfaces, workflow automation, and intelligent decision support.
  • Use AI tools to improve personal and team productivity, development quality, test coverage, documentation, and operational response.
  • Influence engineers and leaders across teams without direct authority, building alignment around technical decisions and measurable outcomes.
  • Mentor senior engineers, raise the bar for design and implementation, and create opportunities for others to take on broader technical scope.
