About The Position

The Staff Scheduling Coordinator supports the overall staff scheduling process and communicates with staff. The role performs scheduling functions as directed, working collaboratively with other personnel to support scheduling coverage for patient care and assisting with patient scheduling as needed. This is a part-time position with a varied schedule, 20 scheduled hours per week, Monday through Friday, with hours of work listed as 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The position is based at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in office work, word processing, data entry, computer applications, office coordination, supervision, secretarial work, administrative assistance, health care, customer service, or a medical office setting.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with other personnel on scheduling coverage aspects of patient care and assist with patient scheduling as needed.
• Complete staff scheduling functions, including block schedules and vacation calendars, and transcribe scheduling information and staff schedules in a timely manner.
• Enter visit information when needed for staff using hard-copy documentation.
• Reconcile daily reports and other information using various software applications.
• Facilitate verbal and written communication with staff and coordinate with clinical managers as needed to ensure workflow.
• Maintain the confidentiality of staff and corporate information according to policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate service excellence in interactions with patients, families, internal customers, physicians, and others.
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with coworkers and staff of other affiliates, and help others as needed as a team member.
