Staff RN - Open Heart Recovery
About The Position
Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The department has scheduled staff to operate 24/7/365. The RN is accountable for nursing practice as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) according to criteria in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. In accordance with department policies and nursing care standards, the RN provides professional nursing care and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients. This position is in the Cardiovascular ICU 1 department and is scheduled for 36 hours per week on the day shift. Responsibilities require focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio and/or a current Registered Nurse license in good standing with a multistate compact state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required by five years of employment.
Responsibilities
- Performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments as applicable to the population or individual.
- Documents planned nursing interventions based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs.
- Evaluates and documents patients’ responses to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriate intervals.
- Revises the plan of care based on evaluative data as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Participates in process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
- Performs operations-related duties.
- Delegates nursing tasks to LPNs and UAPs in accordance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
- Provides professional nursing care in accordance with department policies and nursing care standards.
